Humankind, by our nature gravitates towards beautiful things. It is one of those indisputable universal truths. The ear is attracted to melody, the eye to color, form, and proportion, the nose to honeysuckles-you get the idea. Having lived and worked in the desert Southwest now for over 20 years, I am amazed at the ancient civilization, still leaving their lasting marks in cliff dwellings, images in rock, coiled vessels, and perfect weaves. At the Southwest Indian Foundation, we are proud to announce our inaugural historical and cultural journal. Whether you are an avid scholar, or a novice, there should be something here for you in the Wisdom Keepers Journal. Our ambitious attempt is to open the door to magical and majestic world. Overreaching and pretentious? Perhaps, but that does not mean we shouldn't try. It may be a lot of fun, and we should learn some things along the way.
