How Can You Help Provide Warmth for the Poor this Winter
All your purchases help provide the income necessary to purchase and supply stoves that not only allow cooking but give off enough heat to warm the small native dwellings that exist out here on the reservation.
Most people think of the Southwest as being a place of constant warmth but that is the furthest thing from the truth. Here, in some places in the high desert, where the Navajo Nation is located, elevations reach upwards of 6,000 to 8,000 feet or more. Severe blizzards and subzero temperatures are not at all uncommon.
With our stove program, and your generous donations, we are able to install safe, efficient Wood/Coal stoves for needy individuals and families.
Remember, even if you can't afford to buy a whole stove, or even a half stove, the smallest of your donations really do help. We are able to, in a cumulative way, help warm some of the poorest of the poor people in our country.
